Terms of Service
Mood Sanctuary is run by The Flop Collective Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By using Mood Sanctuary you agree to these terms. Last updated 16 July 2026.
1. The service
Mood Sanctuary is a web application at mood-sanctuary.com that helps you find words for your feelings: you describe how you feel, and it responds with a word, a photo, and music. The words and quotes are generated with the help of AI. They are chosen with care, but they are suggestions, not truths — occasionally one will miss.
2. Who can use Mood Sanctuary
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mood Sanctuary.
3. Trying it, accounts, and fair use
You can try Mood Sanctuary without an account: each new device gets five free moods. Creating a free account keeps your journal — your words, photos, and songs — and includes five moods each calendar month. Allowances may change with reasonable notice. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and your account is for one person. Reasonable rate limits apply to everyone; submitting moods with automated tools or in bulk is not allowed.
4. Subscription
The paid plan is $5 USD per month for unlimited moods, billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account — you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and no further charges are made. We don't refund partial months, except where the law requires it. Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately. If the price ever changes, we will tell you before it affects you. Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe's terms; we never see your card number.
5. Not a crisis service
Mood Sanctuary is designed for everyday emotional reflection. It is not a mental health service, a crisis line, or a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a crisis helpline in your region. By using Mood Sanctuary you acknowledge that it is not a clinical or therapeutic service.
6. Your content
The feelings you type are yours. We don't claim ownership of them; you give us permission to store and process them only as far as needed to run the service — how that works is described on the privacy page.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mood Sanctuary for any unlawful purpose, attempt to access anyone else's data, interfere with the service, or work around its limits. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Availability
We run Mood Sanctuary on a best-efforts basis and don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Music previews come from Deezer and photos from Unsplash — those parts depend on third-party services outside our control, and features may change over time.
9. Intellectual property
The Mood Sanctuary name, design, and application code belong to The Flop Collective Ltd. Photos and music previews belong to their respective owners and are subject to their licences.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Flop Collective Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Mood Sanctuary, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify users who have an email address on file before it takes effect.
